Chef Lily and Chef Travis met at Johnson & Wales university in Denver Colorado in 2013. They worked well together and were inspired by each other despite coming from very different backgrounds.
Chef Lily found her love for cooking at an early age helping her Grandparents and her father who cooked traditional Filipino cuisine. In 2006 she moved from the Philippines to Denver Colorado to pursue her dreams of becoming a chef.
Chef Travis Grew up in Arvada Colorado and Often traveled to New Mexico to visit his family, this is where he found his inspiration and love for cooking so he enrolled at Warren Technical Culinary school to learn his craft. He left Colorado at age 19 to pursue his dreams working with a catering company in Fort Lauderdale FL and the PGA national resort and Frenchmans Creek country club near Palm Beach Florida. After several years working in commercial kitchens Travis decided it was time to make his dreams come true, never losing his love for cooking he returned to culinary school in 2013 when he met Lily. Travis and Lily were together on New Year’s eve at a catering event in Vail Colorado, the time was right and they decided to pursue their dreams together and create Kusina Colorado. ‘’Kitchen blue’’Representing Lily’s family’s kitchen in the Philippines and blue representing the Ocean where they both dreamed to return some day. In 2018 they took the leap of faith selling everything they own and leaving their families behind to move to Palm Coast Florida, they purchased a concession trailer and after months of blood sweat and they are excited to share their love of life love of good food and pursuit of happiness with you.
